この度は『舞妓と静寂の世界観』のホームページをご覧いただき、誠にありがとうございます。

この十年、やっと表現したい技法によって、日展の作品を描きつつ京都祇園の舞妓を描くことに日々の暮らしが重なっております。

このホームページを作成するにあたり皆様方の御助言いただいたこと、改めて感謝申し上げます。

Thank you very much for visiting the website of ``Maiko and the World of Silence''.

Over the past ten years, I have been painting works for the Nitten exhibition and drawing maiko from Gion, Kyoto.

I would like to once again thank everyone for their advice in creating this homepage.

何故、舞妓を描くのか

『12歳で決心し、15歳で花街に命を賭す』

  もう少し柔らかい言葉でしたが、17歳の舞妓さんの言葉に覚悟が感じられた。

『私は、小学生で舞妓さんに憧れ、中学卒業と同時に地方から憧れの京都で舞妓さんになれました。…これしか生きられないのどす…これしか…』と言葉を加えた。

一見、華やかさだけが表舞台に映える世界。でも、一歩踏み込めば見え隠れする凛と寂。汗と涙の世界観。
だから彼女たちの眼には心眼が宿る。一切の妥協がない。隙が無い。
だからこそ、こちらも真剣に向き合わなければならない。

私の作品は、『舞妓さんの生き様と覚悟を描きたい』…一心で描いております。

Why do you draw maiko?

“She made up her mind at the age of 12 and risked her life to the red light district at the age of 15.”

　 Although the words were softer, I could feel the determination in the 17-year-old maiko's words.

　``I admired being a maiko when I was in elementary school, and as soon as I graduated from junior high school, I became a maiko in Kyoto, which I admired from the countryside. ...This is the only way I can live...this is the only way I can live...'' she added.

　At first glance, it is a world where only glamor shines on center stage. However, once you take a step forward, Rin and Sabi appear and disappear. A worldview of sweat and tears.

　That's why the eyes of their hearts dwell in their eyes. No compromises. There is no gap.

　That's why we have to face this issue seriously as well.

　Although my work is rough, I do it with all my heart: ``I want to depict the life of a maiko and her determination.''
